Lead Occupational Therapist

We are currently looking for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a Lead OT on our team, you will provide shift supervision and monitor day-to-day diagnostic and therapeutic services & rehabilitation within the Occupational Therapy Department. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• Assess learning needs and capabilities of the patients and caregivers
• Initiate patient and family education in a timely manner relative to age, length of stay, readiness to learn and emotional status
• Communicate effectively and work with physicians and/or other members of the interdisciplinary team in meeting patient needs
• Demonstrate use of the interdisciplinary team approach to patient care; collaborate, confer and update other team members regarding patient progress, treatment, and discharge planning
• Actively contribute to and work towards hospital wide improvement in meeting core measures, patient safety and service excellence goals

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters preferred
• Minimum experience: 2 years in appropriate healthcare setting; Supervisory experience preferred
• Current Florida Occupational Therapist license
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills
