MATERIALS HANDLER INSPECTOR
You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER INSPECTOR in the ORDNANCE OPERATIONS DIVISION of NMC CWD DET NORTH ISLAND.
- You will assure the quality and safety of ordnance material and operations as related to the receipt, issue, storage, handling, segregation, renovation, preservation, and packing of such items.
- You will perform inspections to determine adequacy of operations and facilitates.
- You will perform receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items and certify them as ready for issue.
- You will determine the detail locations within storage facilities and assure proper stowage of cargo within vessels per load plan.
- You will offload and onload ordnance materials from trucks, rail cars, vessels and other conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, side loaders and stacker cranes.
- You will operate forklift trucks in areas including warehouses, railroad cars, trucks, vessels, and other confined spaces as well as outside areas having a variety of unpaved, unimproved, or rough surfaces.
- You will construct, place, sheath and install wooden blocks, wedges, bracing structures, partition bulkheads, deck boxes and other staying devices.
