SUPERVISORY STORE ASSOCIATE

About the Position: Serves as a first level Supervisory Store Associate, in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operation. Specific assignments vary by individual store and store management requirements.


  • Directs and controls the operations and personnel of the commissary front end customer service department.
  • Modifies schedules based on personnel capabilities, planned and emergency leave schedules, and position vacancies.
  • Monitors and supervises all register transactions.
  • Ensures new personnel receive proper orientation and ensures on-the-job training is provided.
  • Personally, conducts or oversees cash pickups at various times during the work day.
  • Responds to customer questions and issues.
  • Reviews financial reports related to cash accountability and enforces procedures for control and protection of commissary funds.
